🌱 We Believe in Design as Action
At PIGLAB, we believe in the power of design to inspire real action.
That’s why with every project, we donate a portion of our profits to an environmental organization that aligns with the story and message behind the product.
Previously, our Turtle Bottle Opener supported WWF in efforts to protect marine ecosystems.
This time, our Woodpecker’s Forest Pencil Holder—inspired by vanishing forests and the endangered Black Woodpecker—sparked a new initiative.

💚 Donation to Nowol Park Citizens’ Association (NOGOSIMO)
In line with this message, we donated 1,000,000 KRW to the Nowol Park Citizens’ Association (NOGOSIMO),
an organization transforming Nanjido—once a mountain of waste—into a thriving urban forest.
The words “Supporters of the Woodpecker’s Forest Pencil Holder” printed on the donation certificate refer to each and every one of you who made this possible.
🌳 From Waste to Forest: A Shared Philosophy
Located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, NOGOSIMO has been reviving the land of Nanjido,
which once served as a landfill for 15 years.
They plant trees, build habitats for animals and birds,
and educate children about nature—offering them stories of life instead of waste.
Their mission deeply resonates with PIGLAB’s own values:
just as we transform discarded materials into thoughtful design objects,
they are redesigning abandoned land into green, living forests.

✨ About NOGOSIMO’s Forest Projects
🌳1002 (Succession) Forest Project: Replacing acacia trees with native species to encourage forest succession
🐜 Ant Forest Network: Connecting scattered forest patches into a single ecological network
🌱 Jipssi-tong Campaign: A remote forest-building campaign where citizens grow acorns at home and send seedlings to be planted
💧Rainwater Forests: Creating water sources for animals using collected rainwater
⛰️
Like a forest blooming atop a landfill,
we hope this small pencil holder inspires real change through small actions.
We are sincerely grateful that you were part of the beginning of this forest.
